New Year's Writing Workshop | Event report
2024.01.12
Hello everyone. MUJI Hiroshima Parco.
In the first event of the new year, we held a workshop at the beginning of writing.
The lecturer was Miho Shibata of Shoshisui.
Midori Shoshi is a shop for used books and art galleries.
I belong to the Japanese calligraphy Association in Tokyo and Hiroshima, and also hold calligraphy classes.
The beginning of the writing originated from the Imperial Court events during the Heian period, and on the morning of New Year's Day, rubbed ink with Wakasui (water first drawn on the morning of New Year's Day) and celebrated and wrote poems toward the auspicious direction of the New Year (Eho). It seems to be derived from writing.
Let's start with ink.
Small and cute inkstone with palm size.
It's been a long time since I had ink.
After ink, practice on half paper.
When I learned how to hold and use a brush, I dared not to prepare many examples, and each wrote my favorite characters as I wanted.
The production is a beautiful colored paper. The show is all about tension.
Everyone wrote their aspirations and favorite words like New Year's.
It's very nice to have illustrations and characters in the characters.
The time to brush with ink calms my mind, and everyone was very pleased with the extraordinary experience after a long absence.
There are also those who made a reservation for Mr. Midori Shoshi's Japanese calligraphy classroom.
We were able to start the New Year with a wonderful event that touched on traditional culture.
MUJI Hiroshima Parco holds events to interact with local residents.
From now on, fun events will be decided one after another.
Please come and experience the charm of Hiroshima.
