Hello everyone. MUJI Hiroshima Parco.
The other day, we invited Mr. Mitsuki Teramoto, who is making bamboo crafts in Takehara, and held a basket knit workshop.
After graduating from Kyoto College of Traditional Crafts, Teramoto moved to Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture.
We produce large-scale objects at events such as the production of daily necessities for bamboo crafts, workshops, and Takehara Scenery Road-Townscape Bamboo Lights.
We are working every day to convey the charm of Takehara through bamboo.
What I made on this day was "Shikainami Kago".
We knit the thinly divided bamboo from the bottom.
Bamboo is said to be softer and easier to knit by spraying water with fog.
I gradually saw the shape.
Like the name of the four sea waves, the side is shaped like a wave.
Even if we knit in the same way, everyone was slightly different, and the shape was cute with a colon, and a very nice Shikai wave was completed.
"By actually putting things in or holding them in your hands, you will gradually get used to it, so please use them a lot," says Teramoto.
Everyone was looking forward to putting plants, putting sweets, putting oranges in winter, and what to put in.
A strong bamboo basket that is resistant to water.
I would be glad if you loved me a lot.
On this day, we also brought a lot of works made by Mr. Teramoto.
"Before and after the workshop, the view of bamboo craft changes," says Teramoto.
Certainly, when I actually touched the bamboo and understood the characteristics of the bamboo, I felt that I could see it differently.
There were many requests from everyone who participated, "I want to make something like this," and it was an opportunity to feel more about the fun of bamboo craft and handicrafts.
