Beeswax wrap made with Japanese bleaching handkerchief| Event report
2024.04.13
Hello everyone. MUJI Hiroshima Parco.
The other day, we invited ericca, who is active as an illustrator and candle writer, to hold a workshop.
This day I made "beeswax wrap".
Beeswax Wrap is an eco-friendly food wrap that can be washed and used many times.
Beeswax also has antibacterial and bactericidal properties, so it is also compatible with food preservation.
This time, I used beeswax from Hiroshima Prefecture.
When comparing the scent with the commercially available beeswax, the beeswax produced in Hiroshima Prefecture has a strong scent of bees and is surprised that the scent is completely different.
The cloth is "Antibacterial Antibacterial Deodorant Japanese Exposure Handkerchief" from MUJI.
There are a lot of colors and patterns, so everyone chose what they like.
This handkerchief is actually quite large, so it seems to be easy to wrap vegetables.
Jojoba oil, coconut oil with antibacterial effect, and beeswax containing natural resin as a substitute for glue are arranged on a handkerchief and melted with iron from the top of the kitchen paper.
The smell of honey drifted, and I felt like I was making sweets.
The feeling of melting honey is also fun.
Mr. ericca's bright and gentle personality gave me the workshop a friendly and fun voice.
In recent years, when marine plastic has become a problem, people who say, "I live near the sea, so I was very worried because various garbage flows into it," or "I wanted to make it myself, but I prepared the materials It seems difficult to do it. "
There were a lot of people who made two or three.
The finished beeswax wrap is dyed in the color of honey and has a nice scent like honey.
Beeswax wrap that can be used happily and conveniently, and is good for the environment, I would be happy if you could use it a lot at home and use it.
Thank you very much to everyone who participated, Mr. Ericca, the lecturer.
