Kinotokei with parquet pattern made of scrap wood| Event report

2024.05.10
Hello everyone. MUJI Hiroshima Parco.

The other day, we invited Laboratorio KIT (Labora Trio kit) to hold a workshop.

Laboratorio KIT is engaged in the construction business under the name of "Kitaura Architecture", and is working to make miscellaneous goods using surplus wood at the construction site and make effective use of them.

This time, we will make a wooden clock made with a parquet-style pattern.
Not only materials, but also scraps left in construction work and furniture production.
Uncolored to make use of the original color and grain of the tree.
He prepared a tree species with a characteristic color.

We use 54 pieces of wood with different colors and atmosphere each one.
Choose what you like, apply a file one by one, and combine it.

When you attach the needle of the clock, it is done. We are particular about the arrangement, and everyone has a unique finish. The parquet pattern is very beautiful, isn't it?

I'm impressed that you can make such a wonderful watch with the extra material.
Everyone was very pleased with the finish.
It was a workshop where you can experience the joy of manufacturing while feeling the charm of wood.
Please pay attention to the future activities of Laboratorio KIT.

MUJI Hiroshima Parco holds events to interact with local residents.
Please come and experience the charm of Hiroshima.
